Dawnpiercer

While most Vestige-class artifacts were forged from the bodies and souls of the Titans, Dawnpiercer was forged from the tears shed from the sun-god Mithra. During the War of Annihilation Mithra was seemingly betrayed by her close friend Baervan, the gnomish deity who acts as a Shepard of lost souls. Unbeknownst to Mithra, Baervan had remained loyal to his friend and it was actually the goddess Lao Shu Po, who had disguised herself as Baervan, who had dealt her a mortal wound with Baervan's staff. Believing her friend had betrayed her, Mitra's tears infused Baervan's staff with the last droplets of her divine power, transforming the staff into Dawnpiercer. As Mithra's power faded, she vowed that someday the sun would cease to rise over the gnomish people for their alleged betrayal. It was this betrayal that gave credence to the idea that a rat, Lao Shu Po's divine animal, should never be trusted.
