Aelas is a vast continent of magic, beauty, strife, and danger. The world is shaped by the wills of gods, the powers of magic, the forces of nature, and the endless ambition of mortals. From bitter tundras to tropical islands, Aelas spans thousands of miles in every direction. Few maps have ever charted, with any accuracy, beyond its outermost reaches.

The world lives in the shadow of the Lich War, a conflict that claimed tens of millions of lives, and ended just over seventeen years ago. Millions of bodies were raised in undead legions by the necromancer Sharev of Erevel, and set on the realms of the living. Sharev, the liches who served him, and his horde of terrors were stopped by the combined might of Aelas' armies and heroes, but at a terrible price. When the fog of war cleared, nearly every mortal races of Aelas found their life expectancy had been halved. The chaos of the war destabilized the world. Banditry, conflict, and eldritch forces blossom in this fledgling era of discord. And with them, the adventurer has made this age their own.

You find yourself, an adventurer in this mighty and diverse land, emptied of elders and reeling from the horrors of the Lich War. You are but one errant warrior out of thousands, seeking fortune, power, or purpose. Wresting it by the sweat of your brow and the strength of your will.
