Kroashar
Domain of Tempest
Kroasher is the God of the Tempest, of the raging storms and the calm seas. He is the roar of the crashing waves and the pull of oceans currents. Worshipped by all who set sail along the many winding rivers or open seas of Aelamos. One would be hard pressed to find a port town that does not house a place of worship to Kroashar. It is common for sailers to stop by before setting sail and offer a form of tribute for safe passage. Those that set out on fishing trips will usually also offer a small portion of their catch on return as thanks for their bounty. Priests of Kroasas are often eccentric with personality as wild as the seas they worship. A common form of worship involves a priest taking a boat out on a pilgrimage across the seas and bringing worshipers along to fully experience Kroashar's creations. These voyages vary in time with the longer trips showing higher levels of devotion. Pirates used to be a common threat to these voyages but very quickly learnt that the risks far outweighed the rewards. The fact that a God of tempests, known for his extreme mood swings between a tranquil calm and a raging anger, would not appreciate harm being done to his loyal worshippers was shocking news to them. Many not making it back to land to warn others not to anger the wrathful God. It is not always devotion, however, that leads to his worship. Many offer prayers and tributes out of fear for his wrath. Ships that do not provide an appropriate offering are believed to fall prey to rouge waves, horrible storms or sucked below the seas by the strength of a whirlpool.
