Liora Faelyn

(a.k.a. The Antiquarian)

Role: Information Broker Background: Liora runs a small, inconspicuous antique shop within the Spring of Ornaments, known for her ability to acquire rare and valuable items. Her true business is selling secrets and information to the highest bidder. She has deep connections with the Unseen and provides them with critical intel on the comings and goings within the city.

Alias: "The Antiquarian"   Age: Early 40s   Race: Half-Elf   Occupation: Information Broker, Antique Shop Owner   Appearance: Liora is a striking woman with long, silver-streaked black hair, often worn in an intricate braid. Her eyes are a piercing violet, a rare color that immediately draws attention. She dresses in elegant, yet understated clothing—often dark-colored robes adorned with subtle, intricate patterns that hint at her wealth and status. A delicate silver chain with a small, antique key hangs around her neck, which she is never seen without.   Personality: Liora is calm, composed, and always seems to be one step ahead in any conversation. She speaks softly but with authority, her words carefully chosen to reveal only what she wants others to know. Her intelligence is sharp, and she is known for her ability to read people with unnerving accuracy. Liora is highly secretive and trusts very few people. Despite her reserved nature, she can be ruthlessly pragmatic, especially when it comes to protecting her interests or those of the Unseen.   Background: Liora was born to an elven mother and a human father, both of whom were involved in the underworld of another city before meeting tragic ends due to a betrayal. Liora learned early on the value of information and how it can be used as both a shield and a weapon. She inherited her parents' knowledge and connections, which she used to establish her own network of informants and spies. After moving to the Spring of Ornaments, she set up her antique shop as a front for her true business—selling information.   The Antique Shop: Located in a quieter, less-traveled part of the Spring of Ornaments, Liora's shop is filled with a curated collection of rare and valuable items, each with a story that Liora knows by heart. The shop is dimly lit, with the scent of old books and polished wood filling the air. It's a place where the elite come to find unique treasures, but those in the know visit to purchase secrets or discreetly pass along information to Liora. She has a hidden room behind a bookshelf where she conducts her more sensitive business dealings.   Role within the Unseen: Liora is one of the Unseen's most valuable assets within the Spring of Ornaments. Her network allows the Unseen to stay informed about political movements, rival factions, and potential threats. She is often the first to know about new players in town or shifts in power dynamics. Liora’s shop also serves as a safe meeting place for members of the Unseen, where they can exchange information and plan their operations. Her connections and ability to manipulate information give her significant influence within the group, though she prefers to remain in the shadows.   Motivations: Liora is driven by a desire for control and security. Having seen how easily lives can be destroyed by betrayal and the loss of power, she seeks to ensure that she is never vulnerable. Information is her weapon of choice, and she is always seeking new secrets to add to her collection. While she is loyal to the Unseen, her true allegiance is to herself and her pursuit of knowledge and power. Liora is always playing the long game, ensuring that she is prepared for any eventuality.   Allies and Enemies: Liora has cultivated relationships with various influential figures within the Spring of Ornaments, including politicians, merchants, and even some members of the local law enforcement, all of whom owe her favors or fear the secrets she holds. However, her power has also made her enemies, particularly among rival information brokers and those who have been burned by her manipulations. While few would dare cross her openly, there are many who would like to see her fall.
