Order of the Viper
The Order of the Viper is a guild of cutthroats, mercenaries, kingslayers, and anyone else who works in the bloody business of murder; many have found their painful end by the blade of a Viper. The guild manages and distributes contracts and offers connections and protection to its members in exchange for a share of the contract's pay. Guild members are ranked based on their skill and can only take contracts that fit their skill set. Contracts can be hard to come by, so there is a lot of competition and backstabbing amongst the ranks—the wise form tight-knit groups to watch each other's backs and take on more difficult contracts.
The guild also offers training to all of its members, making certain that their skills are as finely honed as their blades. The finest Vipers in the guild usually come to the guild at a very young age. These individuals are raised to be masters of death and are titled "Death Adders." They are the guild's most skilled and most likely to succeed the current Guild Master.
Not all Vipers stay with the guild; the Ikarian legions recruit some to be Peacekeepers. The Peacekeepers are vigilant and silent warriors, instruments of death meant to maintain peace or turn the tides of war, without anyone knowing it was their doing.
