Academy of the Morning Star
Formerly known as Skyhex Co., the Academy of the Morning Star was founded as a research group several years before the Cataclysm, studying the old magic and theorizing ways of replicating its effects. After extensive experimentation, it was found that replication was, in fact, possible but required an adequate power source to draw from. For years the members of Skyhex searched for an adequate arcane fuel, but to no avail. That is until the Cataclysm came. The pure magical energy that bled into the world was the missing puzzle piece for their years of hard work.
In the following years, Skyhex members began private tutoring sessions for any who could afford their rates. Due to the havoc and destruction caused by the Cataclysm, magic was untrusted by most. Some could see the potential of its power, though, and so Aechyx's first wave of wizards surfaced. Skyhex built a large campus near Ikkress and rebranded itself as The Academy of the Morning Star, a place for studying and researching all things arcane. Acceptance is typically limited to noble sons and daughters, as well as the occasional prodigy. The Academy keeps its magical secrets well guarded, partially to limit misuse of powerful magics and partially to keep its income flowing in.
