Summon Elemental Ally

This universal spell-form is one that is perhaps the most dangerous and one of the most potent amongst those shared by every order. It is not the hardest or most complex necessarily, but it is one that requires great focus and commitment to maintain and control.

This symbol is but a careful set of lines, a mirrored line version of your own physical shape, placed in position within the Aether where you wish this aide to manifest itself, to be pulled forth from the Aether. You must carefully center a thick vertical line of energy matching in corresponding height from your head to where your legs split off from your torso. Two smaller lines, about 3/4 as thick, flowing down in harmony at the same angle and length as your legs. Two more exiting in a proper location from the upper part of the Torso line to represent your arms, each of these only 1/2 as thick as the torso line, and extending outwards at a slightly downward angle for an appropriate distance. These lines must correspond perfectly with your own dimensions elsewise the spell-form may not work, or worse, call forth an elemental entity that did not accept your barter, and is entirely free of purpose and agreement, an entity of raw primordial energy simply free to do as it wishes, unbalanced.

Unique Trait: Exertion; Unlike simply being a Maintained spell-form, (which these also are) This has even further restrictions involving exertion, or in other words being in combat. An Exertion Spell-form requires you to make a saving throw of some sort (Normally Fortitude or Ego, in this case its Ego) against your own Spell-caster DC at the start of your turn to keep control of your summoned entity. Every turn. The rules for said save are as follows;

  • Critical Success: You are in complete control. You do not spend any actions the bond is impeccable, you control the summoned creature's next turn entirely.

  • Success: You are mostly in control. Lay out a sentence or two for the GM of what you want the creature to do and the GM controls the creature's next turn.

  • Failure: You are barely in any control, but enough. The summoned entity won't hurt you or anyone you deem as allies, nor neutral targets, however you have zero influence over its next turn, the GM decides it all.

  • Critical Failure: Summon link collapses, you suffer the manna backlash, taking 1d8 force damage per spell rank (so minimum 2d8 and the creature fades away at the end of its next turn, pulled back from whence it came.

Unique Rule: You may only have one instance of such a Spell-form active, even if you somehow could maintain one and cast it a second time. It requires too much control to upkeep two uses of such a spell-form for one Magister.
