Knowledge on the Breeze

Oris sat, his little gnome legs crossed, his eyes closed, leaning his head back and humming softly, whispering words none of his companions could quite understand, as he felt himself drift into the meditative state necessary for seeking knowledge from the currents of Aeir. He heard strange croak and gurgle like speech, identifiably words, but not in a tongue he could understand. He heard the slapping sound of something damp against stone, but in a rhythm that could only invoke images of something walking in some fashion, or many creatures walking perhaps. He could smell the sea, a thick briney smell upon the air. Breathing it deep, he caught a little something else audibly, the fearful whispers, words he could understand, the common tongue. He focused deeply inward, and began to manifest his questions for clarity, seeking a bit more understanding and knowledge to better prepare himself and his companions for the chase and conflict to come.
