Downburst
Much like their brothers and sisters in the Ruby Order, the brethren of the Opal Order do have a couple unconventional offensive spell-forms up their sleeve that do not adhere to the general consensus of what to expect from the magicks of Aeromancy, and this is one of those, as instead of the sheer electrifying power of lightning, this instead utilizes the very air itself in a thunderous and mighty blow, like a large sledgehammer.
Effect
Basic Effects: Exerting a higher level of manipulative control and swiftness in diverting and merging the Opal currents of Aeir, you weave them in the Aether, drawing them together with enough volatility to create a small example of a true destructive force within nature, as a sudden burst of hurricane force winds just hammer down onto the target area, flattening plant life, felling trees, collapsing buildings, shattering glass, and of course absolutely bludgeoning any creature in the area with thunderous blow. Any creature caught in the area must make a Toughness Defensive Test. If failed, they take 4d6 thunder damage and 4d6 bludgeoning damage as they are hammered to the ground, knocked Prone, as well as gaining the Deafened (1) condition, and they are Stunned for 1 round. If they succeed the defensive test, they only take half damage, and are not Stunned, though they are still knocked Prone and gain the Deafened (1) condition. Those that fail their saving throw also drop anything they are holding. The area struck by this downburst becomes difficult terrain. Structures take an additional 2d6 thunder and 2d6 bludgeoning damage from this spell-form.
Side/Secondary Effects
Tier II Effects: Increase the radius by 10 feet, increase both damage types by 1d6, and inflicts Deafened (2)
Tier III Effects: Increase the radius by 10 feet, increase both damage types by 1d6, and inflicts Deafened (3)
Tier III Effects: Increase the radius by 10 feet, increase both damage types by 1d6, and inflicts Deafened (3)
Manifestation
There was no real warning for the orcs, none at all. Just a sudden subtle pop in the air above them, a brief squealing before a thunderous burst, as they were flattened, along with everything around them. Trees snapped like twigs, crude war tents collapsed, their makeshift stone and timber wall shattered and flattened. As if the sky itself were expressing its displeasure.
