Defensive Gust
One of the simplest defensive uses of magick that exist, and in a similar vein to a spell-form utilized by those of the Ruby Order, though with notably different effects, and a far more defensive nature.
Effect
Basic Effects: With the quick body and even quicker mind that Aeromancer's possess it should come no surprise such quick reaction to being threatened is mere child's play to them. Responding rapidly to being threatened, the magister calls upon their control of Aeir, manipulating the currents of the Opal flow all around them and whipping them to life, manifesting them out of the Aether in the form of sudden and strong gusts of wind all about them. When this occurs, the attack must be rolled again, treating this roll as if rolling against the Momentum, (so if they roll lower than the original attempt, they use this new one. If they roll higher, nothing happens). Furthermore, for the rest of the round, any attacks against the magister have 10% chance to miss.
Side/Secondary Effects
Tier II Effects: The miss chance for attacks increases to 20%
Tier III Effects: The miss chance for attacks increases to 30%.
Tier III Effects: The miss chance for attacks increases to 30%.
Manifestation
"Almost instinctually, as Gregory saw the bestial leap towards him out of the corner of his eye, the Opal Magister reacted, the winds whipping to life around him. The creature's crude bone headed axe narrowly missed, as it stumbled wide, not managing to hook the claws of its other hand into his flesh. Landing smoothly, it turned, lunging at the magister once more, but once again was foiled, the whipping winds about Gregory's form throwing its balance off entirely as it swung and lunged, snarling furiously."
