The Silent Watcher

In the overgrown ruins of an old Aerdi hill fort stands a statue of a man in maille armor, his sword arm laying on the ground next to him. This silent, watchful monument has stood here since the Aerdi tribes migrated east over one thousand years ago.   What none alive now know, is this is the petrified body of Sir Gharus Vondil, an Aerdi paladin turned to stone by a medusa he set out to slay to win the favor of Heironeous and gain a holy sword. Unfortunately for Sir Gharus, the medusa and her sisters proved his undoing.
