Character Q&A Summer 2025
Questions used for the 2025 Summer Character Q&A on the Adventure Awaits writing group. A lot of the questions have a summer theme to them.
Question #1 First introduce yourselves. Tell us your name. And something you would like your acquaintances to know about you.
Secondly, here is the first question…where in the world (whether in your world or somewhere else real and/or fictional) would you spend a summer vacation and why? Would this place have a personal meaning to you, or would you choose more of a tourist-y place?
Question #2 During your childhood, how did you like to spend your summers? What sort of summer activities did you do? And, do you have a favorite memory from then?
Or if you do not remember your childhood, how would you like to spend your summers with your children or future children?
Question #3 What is something you have longed to do for a long time, but still have not gotten around to doing? Do you think you will be able to achieve this dream/goal/adventure/etc. in the future?

If you could change your live into genre of your choosing, what would you change it into? And what do you think would change?
If you live before the time novel “genres” were recognized as a concept, what myth, fairy tale, or legend would you like to transform your life into?
Question #6 What is a song, story or poem that resonates with you? And why does it resonate with you?

Question #7 How do you prefer to relax during hot summer days where you cannot do much? Do you like to swim, read, or something else?
Question #8 What is something (a book, a food, a film, or something else) that you despised in the past, that you grew to like and enjoy (Or at least tolerate)?
Question #9 If you were to sit down and write a memoir (or biography) of your life, or someone else you care about, how would you choose to write it? How would you choose to portray the people in your life (would you include their real names)? And what would the title be?
Question #10 Moving away from biography, If you were to write a fiction story (whether novel, short story, ballad, etc.) what would it be about and what genre would it be? What would the main character be like?
Or if you have written something, what it is about? And what is your creative process?
Question #11 What is your favorite type of cold food or drink to have during the summer months?
And if you’re from a world where these exist, do you prefer ice cream or popsicles?

Question #14 You’re invited to a fancy midsummer ball hosted by what appears to be fairies, what do you decide to wear for it? And do you believe that fairies have invited you or do you think it is merely an act by the host?

For those of us who have amnesia or memory issues, is there a specific part of your life (such as childhood, college, etc.) where you would like to regain a memory or two from?
Question #16 If you were to open a museum or exhibit of some sort, what would the theme of it be (natural history, art, curiosities, etc.)? And what would the objects be in the collection/museum?
Question #17 What is an action you regret doing, that you wish you could undo? And why would you want to do undo it?
