Sirens
Sirens are a water creature that have beautiful singing voices. However this voice is also their deadliest weapon, sailors who hear this voice have been driven insane and sent their ships towards the rocky cliffs. Sirens don't always intend to kill their victims, they intended to capture a mate.
The capital advises citizens to block out the sounds of singing and failing that tie yourself and your companions to something solid and wait till it passes.

Sirens look similar to that of young mermaid and feature two horns sprouting from their heads.
