Luan no'Hars
Luan no'Hars is a newcomer to the Abyssal Tree. Although they are part of the Union, they are not part of any sector, instead working as an intermediary in conflicts between sectors. Their most frequent partner is Tainte Licht, but they also work with a number of others.
Luan is a Califa, a humanoid species rarely found in the House, and as such, they are a simultaneous hermaphrodite.

Apparel & Accessories
Luan generally doesn't care what kind of clothes they wear, though they prefer pants and shirts to dresses. When working, Luan tends to wear the standard Union uniform, while in private or in non-working times, they swap to a more casual and loose-fitting outfit.
They wear headscarves in public in accordance with the Califa custom of noble spouses wearing clothes to preserve modesty. The scarves are wrapped over a skullcap to completely cover their hair, and they take great care to make sure that loose strands are covered and contained. They will expose their hair only to those they are particularly close to or medical staff if necessary. As such, few people within the Union know what color their hair is.

Personal history
Luan's birthdate and parents are unknown as they were abandoned at a Child's Home shortly after their birth. They received the standard education for all Califa and became employed as a helper in the main vas'Marken house after their 15th birthday.
Their time as a helper in the vas'Marken house was rather uneventful. They were assigned to Milanot, at the time 17, but their relationship was almost chilly. Luan was closer to Milanot's fiance Solarara vas'Fillani. The relationship with Solarara continued after Solarara's marriage to Milanot 3 years later.
It is unknown who started the courtship between Luan, Milanot, and Solarara or when it started. It is believed that the courtship began before Solarara and Milanot's marriage, but it only became public shortly after the marriage when Milanot interfered with another Califa's attempt to court Luan. The revelation of the courtship between a member of the high nobility and an orphan in their employ caused a scandal in noble society, but the uproar quickly died down.
They married when Luan was 19 and Milanot 21, a year after the marriage of Milanot to their first spouse. Luan gave birth to their first child a year later. Two more children followed over the next 6 years. As their marriage was morganatic, neither Luan nor any of their three children could not inherit any of Milanot's titles, but their position as the Second of a high noble secured their livelihood.
Gender Identity
As a Califa, Luan struggles to understand the concept of sexes, as the Califa are a hermaphroditic species and lack sexual dimorphism. They frequently refer to others using the terms 'they' and 'them' and often misidentify people's sex, though they are quick to learn.
Luan wears whatever clothes they prefer at the time. They do not care about the idea of gendered clothing.
Sexuality
With Califa lacking much of a concept of either gender or sex, the closest human term for Luan's sexuality is demisexual. They do not feel sexual attraction to strangers, and they only start to feel a sexual attraction to those they are particularly close to. The sex of their partner does not matter to Luan; they are equally likely to have male and female partners.
Education
Luan received the standard education given to all Califa, and they received further education after their marriage to Milanot vas'Marken. They are particularly skilled at organization.
Taboos
Luan firmly believes that a person's loyalty is the most important part of their reputation. As such, they take betrayal or accusations of disloyalty extremely poorly. They tend to view traitors as the lowest of scum and hold grudges against those people for far longer than some might consider proper.

Luan tends to hold their emotions in reserve. It is difficult to draw much emotion from them, though accusations of disloyalty are quickly met by anger. Their steady demeanor draws people to them, and they are especially attractive to young Fae.
Luan is a surprisingly shy figure. They are not used to teasing or public displays of affection, and they are easily knocked off-balance by such displays. They are quick to blush and stammer.
Wealth & Financial state
In their original home realm, Luan was the second spouse of Milanot vas'Marken. As a Second and especially that of the head of the vas'Marken clan, they wielded a great deal of influence, though their personal wealth was close to nil. Milanot freely allowed Luan to access the wealth of the vas'Marken clan.
After their arrival at the House, Luan's standard of living is far lower but still comfortable.
