Malus' Ambush
"Take it, dear. I am not a fighting fellow. Just allow me, in my last moments, to do something good. I must say, I did do a fine drink. At least now, you have a chance. You'll be able to show them that this old barkeep has some tricks up his sleeve, even after his death. Go on, dear. Make us proud,"With all of the magical weapons of the Lord of the Isles collected, and the blessings from the Chthonic Deities, there had been very little left to do for the coalition. It was the end of their resistance to Malus. Months of dedicated work, taking down threats such as Vorbile, the Desecrator , the wielder of the Dreaded Gungir , Lord Zorpindral, and the volatile brawler Renkara. There were very little goals left for the Coaliton. Simply put, they needed to do very little. Simply, they had to return to Malus' domain and destroy the dragon. However, fate had another plan in mind. For whilst the Coalition had their schemes - so too did the Charred Colossus.
- Adrián, Barkeep of the Coalition, saying his last words to Roxanne Galahad, before his noble sacrifice.
In the end, hundreds of coalition members died, including Torr, an Elfar-born brute, Adrián, a barkeep from the Thevagon Isles, and Salar, the Great Battle Master. Adrián and Torr sacrificed themselves to slay an adult red dragon, being Malus' oldest son - the wyrm that was destined to carry on the work of the Charred Colossus, in case he'd die. Malus was enraged, but had exhausted his most powerful attack. He needed to rest - and to prepare for his final fight.
The radiation from the battle had made the Port Town uninhabitable. There was no place for the remaining members to flee to, until Lethlec Atomic Pylons were invented. A stroke of genius from Doctor Lethlec, a proud scientist that worked under Professor Elara. He could channel the leftover radiation, and use it to purify the island from Malus' corruption.
