Garlic Bread

"Good god. I love garlic bread,"

- Clara, the Bold, after being asked her thoughts on garlic bread.
Garlic bread is considered one of the most valuable foods across all of Aitso. It turns a relatively simple dish, bread, and adds variety with garlic. Across the different nations, garlic bread is seen as a universal cuisine, having originated from the Lyonese region of Graceswift, where both of these ingredients existed in abundance. Additional herbs, as well as butter, are topped on these slices of bread. It is often served in thick slices from a baguette, or a panini. Traditionally, the food exists as a side dish, accompanying a savoury meal, but some cultures use it as either an appetizer, or even its own main course. It is grilled, baked, or toasted, in order to gain its signature crispiness. Despite its simple nature of being butter, garlic, and bread, it is easy to burn. Luckily enough, many consider the burnt parts of a piece of garlic bread to be the best, whereas some believe the softer, undercooked regions to be best, still dribbling with garlic juices that hasn't formed directly into the bread.
As a common meal, garlic bread is fed to soldiers of Graceswift's armies, but it had also been considered a luxury in the militaristic state of Azeroth, being considered a delicacy fit for only those that had proven their strength and valour. King Berwick, before his death, had gorged on this meal, alongside pork chops and mutton. With King Berwick, and his elite knights, all being killed in a revolution, garlic bread was one of the first things given to all of the members of the nation, as a sign of changing times. The new monarch, Gorlag, isn't as fond of garlic bread, but understands its importance.
Some nations and cultures on Aitso, and beyond, have used garlic bread as the base for their sandwich. The dreary region of Colmar, in Graceswift, is said to be the first place to make use of garlic bread as the base of a sandwich. Bogtreader Catoblepas , whilst previously being considered abundant, had saw a rapid rate of slaughtering, as their meat had been considered a perfect combination with garlic bread, alongside roasted vegetables. With there being less than five hundred Catoblepas left in Colmar, this dish has been deemed a criminal act to prepare, in order to try and preserve the species. This was enacted recently, under a request from Princess Moira Grace, the dark mage of Colmar, and daughter to the King of Graceswift.
