Deformis' Shackle

"I don't understand the name. Your mother must've been an awful woman! Calling her son deformis, whilst he is deformed. Talk about low hanging fruit! Those idiots look at greatness, like us, and then put us down with such words. In your case, those words were killing you. Key word - were,"

- Professor Elara, talking with the half-dragon Deformis
Deformis was one of the few children of Everblight to survive Malus' cull. The idea of asexually reproducing had disgusted The Charred Colossus, and so all of the eggs were to be destroyed, along with Everblight. Whilst the dragon was killed, along with most of her spawn, those that had escaped were capable of evading capture for years. Deformis was one of these children, who had been malformed and more humanoid. This change had been evoked due to Everblight's encounters with adventurers throughout her life. Through divine punishment, a theory from the Bladeblossomers that spoke of the Hymns of Malus, the Charred Colossus , Deformis was supposedly destined to be a great warrior against Malus' enemies. He was kept as a slave, in Malus' domain, forced to repair any region of the domain with his bare hands.
Deformis, in his later years, in adulthood, began changing once more. In rapid bursts, he would go from shedding his scales and losing his horns, to being unable to stop himself from having his breath bring shards of ice, or for his hands to grow into fully-grown dragonclaws. This bizarre condition had been due to the long-lasting affects of Malus' radiation. Whilst Lethlec Atomic Pylons could have protected Deformis from further mutations and warps, Deformis had been adamant that he would not shackle himself to one location for the rest of his life. When he had met Professor Elara, a member of the Coaltion, they had become allies, with a mutual pact to aid each other, whenever called to do so. One such time for this, was Deformis' first bargain with Elara. He begged her to aid him, to cure him of his vile mutations. Elara could do no such thing - a half dragon in a form like Deformis' was near-impossible to operate on. Instead, she took the principles of Doctor Lethlec, and had used a cursed shackle of stagnation to keep Deformis in stasis. He would not grow hungry, thirsty, nor age. His mutations had ceased, but so too did the aspects of his life he enjoyed most - taking care of the basic needs of survival.
