String-Stone Mallets
"I'm sorry, I was told by the ones that had brought me here that this land was perfect for a demoness such as myself! These folk here, these lesser-beings - they are less than lesser-beings! Look at what they use, their tools. It is quite pathetic and weak. Frankly, I am disappointed in humans, of all people,"Volutaria is a barren land. There is little vegetation across some regions, and in the others, the dens that humans could have lived in, are instead populated by vicious monsters and horrific fiends. Volutaria is a land built on destruction, evil, and corruption. It is no wonder that so many demons call it their home. One of the only regions that didn't see an onslaught of destructive forces was along the river Trigun. This land was, relatively, safe. The people on the riverlands were capable of growing into a simple civilisation, with small villages keeping close to one another, yet remaining as distinctive settlements.
- Eisheth, talking to General Garuda, before being trapped.
The regions were, unfortunately, wiped out. The Trigunese people were wiped out - save a few hundred who imagined to escape and journey to different lands. The only symbol on them that suggests that they originate from Volutaria, on the Trigun river banks, is the Crest of Trigun, which is a small, bizarre rune that exists on the outer side of their right thigh. The same crest exists on Trigun's chest.
Trigun, the demon who named himself after the river, resided in the hilltops that lie northbound from the river. A foul, morbid demon - a child of Samael, Sin Embodiment .
The stone found on the banks of the Trigun river were said to have protective properties against spirits, ghosts, and other geists. These tribal civilisations and cultures had used them as their main weapons.
The people of Volutaria who had died whilst attempting to flee were said to emerge as phantoms in mainland Aitso, in Lydgartha. Many demons who prided themselves on hunting down these remaining humans had migrated to Lydgartha. Some argue that Lydgartha has become the dystopian kingdom it is today, because of the demons in Volutaria.
