Wyvern
Basic Information
Anatomy
Bodily Features: Wyverns are similar to dragons and drakes as they share features such as scales, large, canine-like teeth, talons, and strong prehensile tails. Where Wyverns differ from dragons, however, is through a mutation that caused Wyverns to reclaim there two front legs and change their wing anatomy to function as 'new' front legs. Wyverns also have larger wings on average compared to their bodies, which are smaller then their dragon cousins. While dragons spit fire, female Wyverns have an ability to spit venom from glands beneath their tongues. Nobody knows why only females are capable, but some theorize it's a defensive mechanism that females use when defending their nests from predators.
Coloring: Unlike dragons, Wyverns are two toned. They have creamy white, tan, or grey underbellies while their topsides can range from muted tones to extremely vibrant neon's. Typically, those with white underbellies have brighter topside colors, while those with tan or grey underbellies have muted tones.
