Havere Chapter 2, Session 7: The Siege of Havere Part 2

The party take a quick rest at the Temple of Olastra(landmark:2ca719ff-7efd-4fe5-9d9e-202a65e46c82). The @[Harbor Watch have turned it into a forward medical base. Dozens of wounded soldiers wait triage and treatment. The priests of Olastra there ask the party if any of them could help. Carnival having being in these types of situations before directs the rest of the party to help. For his service, Olastra blesses him with a temporary bonus to his axe.   Suddenly the guards outside of the temple rush in and report that the invading army has broken through the lines and are heading towards the temple. The party help bar the door and lays bear traps in front of it. They hear the futile attempt of the watchmen outside to defend against the invaders, and the door start to break down.   As the party prepares for a breach, a boulder flies through the roof of the temple toppling the statues of Olastra. Snow falls gently on the broken fountain, and suddenly a torrential volume of water pours into the sanctum. Water Elementals. One of them immediately engulfs Belinda and she starts to drown. The others attack a second, while Carnival tries to help Belinda get out of the first. He is unsuccessful. The other party members defeat the second water elemental, and help Carnival with the first, they are successful.   Just as they have time to catch their breath, the front door breaks open a large undead Ogre with a ships mast as a battering ram appears. Behind him are other other drowned monsters and another undead ogre that seems to be maintaining a spell. The battering ram ogre gets trapped in the bear traps, and the party quickly dispatches him and the other drowned sea spawn. They realize that the caster Ogre is an illusion when they step outside of the temple to confront it.   When they get past the illusion they see that the ancient Elven arch in the middle of the square has been activated by a tall decomposing elf-sea-spawn monster. HIs lower extremities are obscured by black incorporeal tentacles. After making a speech about how wanting to try out his new body, he his guard attacks. Himo and Murgan make quick work of the sea spawn, but it goes sideways when they are both hit with a magical ink attack. Carnival goes after the warlock as Belinda and Morgan support from the back lines. This elven creature has a cold aura and attacks with spells and a broadsword. He takes out both Murgan then Carnival and is close downing Himo when Himo hit him with one last fatal punch combo.   In the creature's dying breath he says that this time he prepared a phylactery, and would return to finish freeing his God Mulin.
