Havere - Chapter 1, Session 4: Old Enemy, New Master

In the aftermath of the fight at the The Black Heart's warehouse in the outer city, the gang decides to snoop around and see what they can find. They find out that the gang is hording high-end, non-perishable food stuffs (cured hams, wine, flour, sugar, etc.) in order to corner the market during the kracken blockade of the city. They also find two kilos of unprocessed skooma worth quite a bit of money on the street and a secret passage that leads into the sewer.   The party wakes up their captive gang member and "convinces" him to tell them more about the Black Heart. He tells them that his boss's boss's boss Thordus Blackfoot is supposed to have an important meeting in the sewer. He also is "convinced" to tell the gang a secret password that might get them past some of the gang members down there. The party decides that this is the best opportunity to go and confront the Black Heart to go into the sewer.   Using a comprehend languages spell, Morgan The Pocket Magician follows a series of instructions written in thieves' cant to the lair. There, the gang finds two half-orcs guarding the entrance of what looks like the hideout. The gang decides that Murgan (since he is also a half-orc - and rather ruffian-looking to boot). With some sly lying in conjunction with saying the password, Murgan gets pasts the guards. Half way down the corridor, Murgan overhears an audience happening in the next room.   The audience is between a Dwarven-accented person (presumably Thordus Blackfoot) and Artur Pendragon. Artur cuts a deal with Blackfoot promising to get rid of the Brotherhood in Arms and the Death Adders in return for some favors from the Black Heart. Artur states that he serves a new powerful master that needs some muscle in the city.   After overhearing the conversation, Murgan tells the party what he overheard via Belinda's message spell. The party decides to attack and ambush Artur as he's leaving the hideout. Artur sees the party quickly dispatch the two half-orc guards and prepares to engage the party. Black plate mail coalesces onto his body, and a black greatsword coalesces in his hands. As Artur attacks, chaotic energy is shed off of his sword and person. One of these opens a portal that a red slaad steps through.   Artur appears to be able to cast spells now too as he is able to cast shocking grasp on Murgan and a shield to protect himself. The Red Slaad begins attacking the party's back line implanting a slaad larvae in Xenia, Himo, and Morgan.   The battle shall continue next session.
