Maa'los Hizei-Dir

Hizei-Dir had always been different. He had known he was special since the moment he was born, and knew it even more after he was old enough to understand his circumstance. He knew he could change the world.

Summary

Hizei-Dir, the son of no one worth mentioning, was born for greatness, as is every Maa'los . As an adult, he rallied the Dragons, talking about how it was time to reassert their dominance over a world who had forgotten the role and their power. After gaining the support of the Dragons and the Dragon Kings, he started war with the other races, it is said that just his presence on the battlefield caused trained warriors to run and cower in fear, and that even the Dragons feared his wrath. After a war that lasted over 50 years, he was killed by his own kind after they finally saw the terror he had wraught. What came after was the darkest times the Dragons had faced.

Historical Basis

While the exact time of the event remains unknown, and many of the details have been lost to the extravagance of time and stoeytelling, one thing remains clear: Hizei-Dir existed and caused the destruction of the Dragons.

Spread

It is common knowledge, though only the Dragons still hold the exact records, especially those supposed to be recorded by Hizei-Dir's closest friend and killer.

Variations & Mutation

Some believe Hizei-Dir to have been killed by a human or other race (generally each race claims to have killed him). Some claim that Hizei-Dir was a god, and others that he was a half-breed between a dragon and a creature of Chaos.

Cultural Reception

The Dragons regard it as their worst moment in history. The Dragon worshippers believed it to be a sign that the Dragons would fall and began to stop worshipping them. The humans took it as a sign that they should isolate themselves and tell the story to children to scare them from entering the other continent (they think it fiction). To the rest of the races it is integral to their "duty" of hunting and killing Dragons, imprisoning them, or enslaving them.

In Art

Many a mother tell stories of the terrifying dragons that will steal souls and bring destruction if children don't behave.
