Elf
Elves are the children of Corellon Larethian, their patron god. Their shared legends state that they were breathed into the world from the sun and moon, and those who basked in that light became the sun and moon elves, respectively. Those that breathed in the magic of nature became the Uvanii. or the wood and sea elves. Those that shunned the light and turned to darkness became the dark elves or drow. Those that joined the light of life unbound became the Eladrin or the fey elves. Finally, those that lost all connection to the light but refused the dark became the Shadar-kai or death elves.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves follow the same shape of humans but are commonly shorter in stature and leaner in build. They grow no body hair, excluding on their scalps and the backs of their heads. They also all share the feature fo pointed ears. Beyond this, elves do not share very many similarities with each other.
Genetics and Reproduction
Elves reproduce like humans but have a gestation period of 2 years and females often will become infertile for 20 years following giving birth.
Growth Rate & Stages
Elves mature very slowly after becoming physically prime. Comparable to humans they age at a rate of 1 year for every 12 human years. Most elves live to about 700 but reach physical maturity at approximately 24. They follow the same life stages as humans, albeit at a slower pace.

Each type of elf has a preferred home, but each can live anywhere.
Biological Cycle
Elves, excluding Eladrin, are not controlled by the passing of seasons.
