Anatomy

Big-Eyed Pearlsquid are only the size of an anchovy. Their holographic, shimmering skin is unmistakeable.

Diet

Big-Eyed Pearlsquid consume fish and other smaller cephalopods. They will eat fish the same size as themselves, but squids the same size can put up a good fight.

Habitat

Big-Eyed Pearlsquid live in the coastal Ink Kingdom. They live in rock pools and the coastlines, in any pockets of water accessible.

Behaviour

Big-Eyed Pearlsquid are quite lively animals. They can swim up to 40kmph, and enjoy hopping around rock pools, by launching themselves out of the water.

The bulk of the diet for our Gelletti's Penguins are Big-Eyed Pearlsquid. These tiny squids are natural prey for the penguins!

Our pearlsquid enclosure is kept in another Sector to our penguins. Our squid feed is shipped in directly from planet Osao.
