Tandys Koltir
Information on Tandys Koltir is difficult to come by, and that appears to be by design. While the aloof and secretive thief will make you feel as if you've known one another your entire lives, his anecdotes are informal and his truth is always held at arm's length. It is easy to underestimate the young guildmaster, and he is perfectly content playing up that charade in order to further his own goals, be they personal or for the Lamplighters he protects as his own.
BackgroundLittle is known about Tandys' life prior to leading the Lamplighters. According to anecdotal reports, he simply appeared one day, assuming the mantle of guildmaster without argument or warning. Tandys would be the first to call the claims absurd, nothing more than campfire tales, and how a good thief never shows their cards until they're ready to take the pot. It can be assumed he has been the leader of the Lamplighters for a little under a decade, inheriting the post from an interim leader who proved inefficient, clueless, and careless.
At some point, he appears to have adopted the infernal twins, Revel and Glory.
Campaign: Wither & BloomBefore leaving The Rookery, Grace told Kirmat to find protection with the Lamplighters, giving them the motivation to seek out the thieves' guild within Sanctum. Tandys first made his presence known following the party's investigation of The Rowdy Raccoon and the shrine to The Harlequin within, warning them of the eyes and ears within the room. Luckily for them, it was only his eyes and his ears eavesdropping, and introduced himself to a nervous Vespera.
One of Tandys' scouts tested the party, particularly Kirmat, to determine if they could be trusted to carry out a simple job: one of the high-ranking nobles of the city had passed suddenly while in the possession of Lamplighter assets. He asked them to break into the Duke's vault beneath the city and fetch them for him in exchange for further assistance. Upon successfully completing the task, membership to the Lamplighters was extended to Kirmat, though the rest of the party insisted on their inclusion as well.
He learned that Grace and his Broken Blade rebellion had succeeded in their initial goal, but had been captured by the corrupted Stormcallers. Though he promised Kirmat assistance in rescuing the infernal before his set execution date, the Lamplighters went to ground as the deadline approached. A simple note apologizing for his absence, citing his own scouts being captured, was the only indication given that they would need to solve the problem themselves.
Returning to Sanctum with Grace and one of the captured Lamplighters, Tandys sheepishly agreed to meet with the party, giving a peace offering in the form of a rare book about the Reach's forests. He and Grace appeared to share a tense history, but the duo agreed to assist one another while the party ventured to The Alderwood, as well as offering an apology for his lack of rendered assistance. Appearance
A slender, lithe elf who carries himself with steady poise and a cat's grace. Tandys stands at 6'2", with long legs and toned, wiry arms. His strawberry-blond hair is thick and well-kept, falling in loose waves partway down his back, often held back with an emerald clip to keep it from falling into his face. His nose is sharp and pronounced, pierced with a diamond stud, while a single dangling charm falls from his ears, a chain connecting the piercing from the base of the lobe up to the tip of the point.
Typically clad in all black, plain leather armor that is meant to keep attention away from him, he augments the simple dress with ostentatious rings on his fingers which shine in all colours of the prism, as well as the obvious golden pin affixed to his collar, nearly upon his throat, of the Lamplighter sigil: a lantern, shining for all to see where he stakes his claim.
Relationships- Vespera Toussaint: Sharing something of a one-sided flirtation with Vespera, Tandys appears to speak primarily to her when dealing with her companions, enjoying to watch her struggle and squirm through the loaded exchanges. The party refers to Tandys as 'her boyfriend', which she vehemently denies.
- Grace: Little is known of the relationship between Tandys and Grace, though it is evident they have some shared history. Grace is quite dismissive, playfully and genuinely, of Tandys' ability, while Tandys appears more easily flustered around the infernal.
- Tandys was first introduced in Hershey's first-ever full length campaign, reprising his role — with some loose adaptation — from that version of the character.
