Tashi Gegeen
A close friend of Ruya Ilkin from her days in Garal's Military. Tashi's own military position is never made clear to Ruya's Zhenic friends, who prefer to keep their distance from the woman.

Tashi meets with Ruya every winter in the small village of Kashaat in the Shungan Mountains. She disapproves of Zhenhai and wishes Ruya would find a way to live in Garal, but recognizes that Ruya is largely happy where she is.
Tashi speaks Garalese and passable Zhenic. At Ruya's request, she pays Gao Zhong Hu for Zhenic lessons over the winter of 1246-1247.
