Luan Cho Ming
A skilled cultivator of the Silk Mountain Sect who acted as a personal bodyguard to Du Rui Sheng and later participated in the War of Eternal Day on the side of the rebels. She developed a friendship with Ruya Ilkin, among others. Luan Cho Ming was part of the Guilded Retribution and died protecting her comrades as they escaped the capital city with an injured Zhang Xiong.
Cho Ming's family had unremarkable status in her sect, but encouraged rigorous discipline, hard work, and a practical approach to the cultivator arts in their children. These values drove Cho Ming to take the position as Rui Sheng's bodyguard, despite it being an unconventional and potentially demeaning position for a cultivator. Cho Ming was also influenced by her visits to extended family; her aunt and uncle ran an inn nestled in the Shungang Mountains along a major trade road. She visited often as a young girl and assisted her family in their work. Later, as relations worsened between Zhenhai and Garal, she sent her aunt and uncle money to support the struggling inn.
