Eliva

In the northwest portion of Prostesa, there lies a small town by the name of Eliva. Though there isn't much there, it serves as a place where sailors come to rest. Navigators by heart, Eliva is credited for creating the first official map of the entire continent including the Dragontooth Isles. It's thought that the people there have knowledge that dates back to the very first settlement on Prostesa.

Demographics

Halflings have always existed in Eliva, yet recently there's been an influx of humans from Morigor. The occasional necromancer has been seen among these humans, but the halflings don't seem to mind them all that much.

Government

The town's ruled by a single noble and is followed by a council that helps enforce the laws of that noble. Most of the council is formed from a few humans that used to live in Morigor, and they're quite skilled in politics.

Defences

There's a massive wall to the south of Eliva to protect themselves from hobgoblins. It's a well-known fear in Eliva that the hobgoblin army in southern Quina may attack at some point. Recent years have been quiet, however.

Industry & Trade

Eliva is filled with sailors and drunkards. To say that every night is a celebration is an understatement. It's a wonder how they manage to get anything done with the amount of alcohol in their system.

Infrastructure

The Quinans of Eliva dedicated themselves to creating the biggest shipyard in Prostesa. As such, they are responsible for supplying people with the tools necessary to transport seafaring individuals across the ocean waters.

History

From the earliest days of Eliva, sailors have come and left, aspiring to map the entire continent of Prostesa. It's thanks to them that everyone in the land can navigate where they please and never get lost. Founded by Reynold Cuulinge, a nomadic Dilus, you'll find bits and pieces of your ancestry somewhere here. Though it may not be obvious (or something you're pleased with), everyone here has a connection to the rest of the world in some way.

They'll tell tales of the day their parents fought a kraken and survived, bringing back the head as a trophy, or they'll tell how a dragon's sneeze froze the ocean around Glinmire over for a week. Many of what comes out of their mouths may be tall tales, but they're rooted in some form of reality. You'll be surprised at what facts you find.

Geography

The city is seated between a lake and the open ocean. The land's fertile as ever and is thought to have some of the best farming land in Prostesa. Much like Maula, the plants here are massive and will tower over anybody taller than even a human. Foreigners tend to mistake regular old trees for treants.
