Southern Crown

The Southern Crown is a palace in Beltane, containing the Religious Seat of the territory.

How does this landmark look and feel?

  • Large castle-like structure which acts as a Guild headquarters
  • Includes large temple to Bel
  • Beyond the palace is a palace where a lot of the royal family live
  • Includes event courtyard
  • Made of silica and flint, so shiny and lumiunous, but colourless
  • The last non-storm glass building (the Northernmost)
  • No trees, just rocks, lots of rocks

How was this landmark created?

  • Built by the Odonata people who adopted Bel as their new deity
  • It is by far the most beautiful and power-efficient of the castles and considered the "jewel of the North", often attributed to the Gannwyll Gwydd despite the fact they didn't build it
  • When the Gannwyll Gwydd first set up in the North, they traded mining materials with the Odonata, who were mainly merchants and worked with Brine. The Odonata helped build the Southern Crown., or at least, are responsible for why it looks so good.

What special properties does it have?

  • Runs completely on renewal energy, particularly solar
  • Train Station specifically for Clockmakers
  • Can be converted into a defensive fortress quickly

What can (and can’t) survive here?

  • No plants, trees, herbs
  • Rock gardens, so many rock gardens
  • There are some bonsai maybe?
  • Most of the sapient life forms can survive here

Defenses

It has an electric barrier, similar to an invisible fence, that can be put up if needed. It causes static electricity to varying degrees that immobilizes most beings. There are some Lithomancers and armour that can resist electricity, but overall as an invisible defense against invasions it is good at neutralizing aggression.
