Nuivre
Nuivre is derived from the breakdown of Uranium, also known as "Consetellarium Stone" "Moth Stone, and later, when it becomes Pitch of Lear, "Green Gold". It is part of the Brimstone Element.
It is used for destroying Saesonaid in particular, and represents a "Mirror Life" encounter which when touched with the substance, their cells immediately rewrite themselves and typically die instantly, losing their blueprint to reproduce. The Sinnox, who derive from the Coriniaid, are immune to it, but recognized its catastrophic influence on the Milenakos.
Although it's not often talked about, the fear over Nuivre led to the fragmentation between the two main political/cultural factions who emerged out of the Age of the Fishook- the Belfolk (Ganwyll Gwydd) and the Danfolk (Hanoez) - being inevitable, though later it would be retconned for propaganda.
The forming of Stormglass, a radioactive quartz-based crystal which was developed by an industry in North Sinderfall and spread through the North, made Nuivre somewhat obsolete in the North, and ultimately ravaged the West, particularly Kargast and Meldland, later known as Ankoh. In the midlands, it is still popular in their "midnight cities" but they ultimately feel that unlike their predecessors, they'll get it right without causing an apocalypse this time.
