Hithwenia Covera
Domina Animalium Hithwenia Wythwedn
Hithwenia is an influential member of the Kargast-Karkebian culture during the threshold of the Early Capricorn Era (ECA), as well as a voyaging ancestress figure in Eskern. She is the first known Locii born outside of Eskern to win the Catu Samonii, and was co-founder of Court of the Caustic Trine alongside her longtime friend Penarthun Morgana. After a successful career Hithwenia retires with the Cin Covera, a clan from which she was genetically descended, and is part of the Oak Knowers until her final cycle ends in 112 ECA. She is part of much of the folklore in the surrounding areas, represented as a white roebuck in the Uwch (Karkebi) alliance of the Seven Oldest Animals.
Hithwenia is responsible for creating Blodaiweth with her sisters Bleddynia Lacona and Hyxonia Andemona in order to help Lou Mael secure an heir. When Blodaiweth betrays Lou, Hithwenia flees to Threatening Valley in order to migrate to Eskern. She is tricked into marrying Ae-Ina by one of her many offspring in order to secure citizenship.
When Hithwenia returned victorious from the Cato Samonii, would find her wife's corpse being eaten by the Penwyth Formicii in the army's absence, then losing Aulana shortly after. Civil war is avoided thankfully to Hithwenia's coronation as the Bone Queen and Governor of Eskern, but she puts out proscriptions around Eskern North's lakes and culls a large portion of the Formici population after falling out with Aulana's heir, Betua.

Physical Description
Special abilities
Hithwenia’s offensive magic is best used in Wet Zones such as Sanguine and Phelgmatic places, and are particularly good in rain. Because Hithwenia can essentially create Hexen out of soap, but still utilize its caustic properties, her magic is strongest in water environments - however, because she is inexperienced in hand to hand combat, if you can get past her traps and defenses, she can be beaten easily - at least, given her records at school in fencing and guild matches, that seems to be the case.
However, she is much harder to beat in Arid terrains such as Melancholic and Choleric, because by drawing all sodium compounds in the area to her, she can literally make the entire composition of the ground move and destroy hills and burial mounds. She is deadly in Choleric terrain, particularly around mines because she has immunity to the caustic effects of salt, and her extra eyes.
Hithwenia is rare in that she has not lost the gene that allows her to grow wings, and she, over time, learns how to use them as appendages. She also collects molts and animates them as Gwynwen, and from this she finds a way for the Penwython Aphids to have less of a power imbalance with their Formici brood sisters.
Although Hithwenia doesn’t use the Second Sight Current, she dresses much more like a priestess in battle due to the fact she does less of the combat herself and operates by tiring her opponent out before striking. She average at combat, and doesn’t excel in onr particular area, but her ability to fly gives her a massive advantage if she uses her ability, Revolution of the Flawless Arm, to unfurl her wings, and her ultimate technique, Song of the Night which allows her to rewrite causality and kill even Deathless beings, being almost impossible to evade.
Hithwenia, unlike most halfwings and myacoris, does not excel at close combat and instead uses projectiles. However she has learned fencing out of necessity and fight with a sword and parrying dagger. Their advantage is that the first blood spilled by them if she invokes Scale of Charity, on the battlefield has a chance of paralyzing nearby organs, which can be fatal, though most often it simply causes very painful and corrosive lacerations which can easily mess up the energy flow of the opponent and sometimes kill them. However, her best defense are the mobs she can create of saponified Gwynwen whilst making them corrosive to the touch. She was educated in fighting by Aulana, the Queen who ruled with Ae-Ina, but she was killed and Hithwenia would unfortunately be repeatedly sabotaged by her replacement, Betua.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Hithwenia never considered herself ready for battle, and was interested mainly in textile design and fashions, wanting to become a dyemaster and tailor. However, through her training as a Domina Animalium at the Earth Fire Ash Academy iin one of the villages (maybe Laurel Village, so she can meet Corotica and interact with the castle), she became extensively intrigued in the production of Lye, also known as sodium hydroxide, and was tasked with placating Frau Halde by creating an offering of saponified onions, prompting the beginnings of the Frau Halde Festival in the area (Frau Halde would eventually wander to other villages expecting the same treatment).
Hithwenia creates lye soap from materials in Eskern which can transmit certain wavelengths, particularly after fiddling with some of the equipment in the fallen home of Beleth. This allows Hithwenia to fertilize some of Ae-Ina’s eggs using saponized oil mixed with her own honeydew, giving birth to several children, including the twins Pen-Ina and Pen-Ino. Hithwenia would ultimately be known as a foundation of Lye magic and using its interactions with oil to create oases for An-Awen beings that lurked in the forest and often impeded efforts to rebuild the forest after the Flight of the Locii. This helped Loci relations with the other Halfwings in Eskern.
Hithwenia gained much of this knowledge through her relationship with Penarthun Morgana, the eldest daughter, who had been sent away to secure her heirs and gain an education in the forest. Both of them were recognized and ended up spending much of their time being mentored by Corotica’s staff while running research for her on Lake Laurel. Hithwenia and Penarddun were even given the chance to see Caer Coed and meet Lalaba, where Hithwenia felt a lack of care toward the Halfwings from Lalaba, and felt more inclined to compete in the next Catu Samonii.
