Heno

The Heno are the main Sindainox culture in Sealtland, Meldland, and Eskern. The families of Eresmos and Australis are from this culture. They are descended from an eclectic group of Myacoris outcasts who had built an informal city that didn't require citizenship. Thus, this shaped their mindset.

Who are they and what do they look like?

• Their skin often has a bronze or grayish hue
• They have dark hair and eyes, light hair/eyes is extremely rare

What are their senses or perceptions?

• They have average sight and hearing, and a particularly underdeveloped sense of smell/taste
• Due to the differences in their blood (having more iron, silica, and other minerals), they react differently to metals
• They have the natural ability to sense other silica-based beings, which is known as 'Silicon Syndrome' or 'Silicon Sickness'
• They thus have a natural affinity also for certain metals and chemosynthesis

Where are they in your setting?

• They live mainly in the South
• At one point, their empire covered up to Pestilentia, with certain territories even further North as Sinderfall
• Those who call themselves Heno today live mostly in the South and Southwest
• There are some species/tribes descended from them in Sinderfall still, but they are culturally distinct

How do they survive in their environment?

• They were highly organized as a civilization once they began to ally with humans
• Their connection to petrol and silica gives them significant advantages with technology

What is their general attitude?

• They were known for being martial and imperialist, something the Gannwyll Gwydd continued
• Extremely innovative with science and technology
• Seem to be undecided on whether they prefer assimilation or multiculturalism

How do they feel about the other peoples?

• They are seen in an antagonistic light by most peoples, especially after the fall of their empire
• They have a long-standing competitive rivalry with the Urkommen, particularly the Gannwyll Gwydd, who believe that Henoseth are "descended from nothing"
• The irony is the Gannwyll Gwydd are direct descendants of the Henoseth and are Cambion themselves, but don't tell them that
• They have some sympathetic ties to Myacoris and Kubeleya cultures, but not all of them
• They are heavily involved with Coriniaid, Alrauna, and other Nachkommen who are rejected by civilized society
