Core Identity & Role

What is the literal meaning of the title "Crusatrix"?

Crusatrix means "Crusader" and conveys the idea of a brave and steadfast knight and warrior who serves a cause.

What is the primary role or function of a Crusatrix in your world?

They are the earliest rank which can operate a law enforcement or security service in most cities and countries, though most in rural areas don't even bother with the fancy paperwork and just become unofficial sheriffs/arbiters of their town. L3 is normally the minimum level that will be employed in any royal setting, so many Crusatrix who do not want to be infantry or on campaign will work for palaces or other important buildings.

They also often lead disaster recovery teams, and would often be the main overseer of a relief unit for their guild. They may also take executive or enforcement positions within the guild, with some even choosing to learn the art of arbitration. While it is mainly an active class, there are many "desk jobs" or ones which don't involve continuous combat.

They are considered veteran fighters, and often placed as rear guard or in specialized formations depending on magic use and terrain.
