Citron

Citron comprises the secretions of plants, such as amber, resin, and acids. It is the easiest to apply to folk medicine and magic, as it does not require the ingestion of rocks or metals. It is often used in the occult to create Alrauna and thus has an ambivalent reputation. It is much cheaper to produce and sustain than Flint, so it is associated with the working class and rural communities.

How localized or global are the effects?

  • It is everywhere that organic matter grows, so global
  • The only other source is the sulfiric acid rivers that come from Sulfur mining

How does it look or manifest?

  • It appears as liquid or viscous secretions from organic matter
  • It also appears as waterways in sulphur mines
  • It manifests as the following substances the most in Lithomancy:
  • Bogstone - manifests as humic acid and peat
  • Electum - manifests as amber
  • Meldstone - manifests petrified soil caused by lightning strikes
  • Roisen - manifests as pine/evergreen resin

  • Formalin - manifests as an odorless gas (banned)
  • Benjoin - manifests as a resin from the Benjoin tree (banned)

How does it affect plants and animals of your world?

  • It is technically the "blood" of the plants of the world, the element is thought to be similar to blood and thus the most "natural" and primordial of elements
  • It is one of the most benign naturally-occuring elements though it can be poisonous or corrosive in certain states of matter

What problems or benefits does it create for people?

  • It is used for healing and banishing
  • It is also used to a degree in foodstuffs
  • As a corrosive it is used to destroy metal and can thus destroy organic matter, including people
  • It can be used to animate Hexen and is common in unfinished double walkers, who do not have a Flintlock heart
