Blodaiweth

Blodaiweth is a legendary entity who is known to live in Threatening Valley. He is best known for betraying his spouse Lou Hen, heir to the Constellarium Court. After Gron Mael was struck with Lou's illusion-piercing spear, Blodaiweth allowed him to parasitize his body, before turning into an owl and escaping. Though many have questioned how much of Gron still lives on in Blodaiweth, Gron Mael is the one subject Blodaiweth will not speak about.

It is unknown if Blodaiweth was actually his name, as it translates to 'flower face', which was an affectionate but sometimes demeaning term for Gwragged Verth. Blodaiweth's fate remains unknown, and records about him disappear shortly after the Catu Samonii of 6 ECA.

While Gron and Lou inspired the later figures of Bel and Leuci, Blodaiweth did not make it into any haiography or texts retained by the Clockmakers. He was known to be close with the Abellion family, particularly Avalach with whom he often shared research with. He appears in some stories about Sheena's childhood, and a lot of questions arise as to why he disappears shortly after, and why much of the spells which evoke Gwragged Verth in his name are outlawed by the Clockmakers.

There is a folktale in Kargast that Blodaiweth imparted one crucial piece of advice to Sheena, which inspired her later in her mission work as priestess of Mihr and Bel - "if you do it well, don't do it for free."

Personal history

Blodaiweth was created by Mat Hen and his nephew, the magician Uidu Mael. In order to hopefully have a successful marriage to Lou Mael, he was conditioned to develop resistences to mirror species and carry photosynthetic abilities. This greatly extended his lifespan but he was treated much like an object and underwent a lot of medical tests and examinations.

As the bride of the heir to the Constellarium Court, he spent time being fostered with his half-sisters and other Deii-adjacent noblefolk in Karkebi. It was there he met a younger Gron Mael, though they did not have a relationship until much later.
