Terrene Protectorate Laws
The Terrene Protectorate of Earth (within StarBound) is a galactic organization with a lot of positive press. They have significant training available to all types of Protectors, or members, mostly focused on presentation.
Any Protector may own a planet. All you have to do to stake your claim, is ensure that it isn't already owned by another Protector! If someone already lives on that planet... Okay so hey, here are the laws that Protectors must abide by:
New citizens are excellent for the Protectorate, and for you! However, in order to get any new citizen, the minimum housing must be built or at least validated for their use. The housing cannot have any holes, and must have a light source. This could be a window, or a lantern if there aren't any windows. If the light source is a window, then it cannot simply be a hole in a wall. Many Protectors make their windows out of wood trellace, paper, or glass. All housing must also include one door, or door-like structure so it can be entered and exited.
Anyone moving into such housing is registered as a Protectorate citizen, and must be capable of paying the Protector who owns their home once per day. What is paid is up to the citizen; weapons, plant seeds, food, furniture, and currency have all been used as rent. The Protector's Matter Manipulator will automatically deduct the Protectorate's share when possible. Protectorate citizens can ask their Protector for any number of favors, with as great or little reward as they choose for any given task. Remember, the Protectorate is here to help, and we're always looking for new members and planets! The safety of Protectorate citizens is important to the Protectorate, and the Protector in charge of their planet! If people already live on a planet claimed by a Protector, then they are not considered Protectorate citizens.
