Crunan Put To Rest

General Summary

The companions left Bay's Head on the rumor of blood sucking creatures ravaging the rural country side south west of the city. Traveling through the forest, the party made camp on a mist soaked night. Out hunting while his friends prepared the camp, Agamon ran into a strange woman. She named herself Amera and seemed to know much about the fighter though he believed they had never met. Amera offered Agamon a place by her side if he abandoned his friends. Denying the woman, Agamon raced back to the camp to find his friends locked in mortal combat with Amera's pets. After a ferocious battle, the companions defeated the woman and her minions at a heavy cost. Both the dwarven warrior Stensune and the hunter Alithar fell from grievious wounds.   With the rising of the sun, the party buried their companions with as much reverence as they could muster and moved off to finish the task set before them.   Later in the day, the group came upon a lone farmhouse deep in the forest. There they met a druid Kiltan Softhands and a human rider Connacht who by happenstance had been traveling in the same area. The new found group investigate the seemingly empty house and found signs that a massacre had taken place. The body of a man and woman lay ravaged within the house. No sign could be found of the infant child amongst the ruins. Searching further, the group found a blood trail leading to a small barn in the rear of the property.   Agamon lead the push into the barn and met the full brunt of the vampiric creatures hiding within. The fighter killed one of the creatures but would have fallen himself if not for the healing magic of his new found half elven friend. Finishing off the monsters, the group burned the barn to the ground and began the long trek back to Bays Head.   In the city, the companions first collected their reward from the arrogant mayor then set off to find Horus and his crew to discuss the journey north to find the lost dwarven city. Maester Horus had arranged for a ship to take them up the coast as far as possible before the trek had to turn into the mountains. The ship would raise anchor in sixteen days, leaving the adventurers enough time to prepare for what lay ahead.
