A Ten on the Murder Scale

General Summary

23rd of Springwane   With Grahm still training with the Mithril guards, Humperdink, Stensune and their new friend, Walker the hunter decided to further investigate the mystery surrounding Skiff's sudden disappearance.   Checking the foreman's office, the trio found a map with odd marks indicating some strange activity around the Hollows. Taking the most direct route to the small town, the companions left the Docks and headed out into the wild.   As evening drew closer, the group entered the hills on the outskirts of the Hollows. Scouting ahead of the party, Walker detected angry voices hidden behind a low rise. Sneaking forward, he found an impromtu camp occupied by two bandits and their captive. Returning to his friends, Walker reported his sighting, remaking that one of the bandits was a female halfling and the other a human male. The bound and gagged captive was a young female human.   Humperdink decided to approach the camp openly, whistling a tune and offering to entertain the group with a song. Walker hung back with Stensune, whose murder scale was still only a 5 out of a possible 10.   During his performance, the halfling minstrel cleverly changed several lyrics to alert her hidden friends that the bandits believed their captive to be a witch, a Raven Sister, who they were intent on bringing to the Rust Brothers for the bounty.   With Walker stumbling through the brush trying to convertly approach the captive, Stensune, his scale of destruction climbling closer to the max, charged one bandit and sliced the man in half from stem to stern.   The halfling, seeing her companion obliterated by the dwarf's blade, spat a curse at her 'cousin' Humperdink and ran off into the woods, taking a sling stone to the shoulder as a parting gift from Walker.   With night falling, the group freed the young girl from her bonds and waited to hear her story.
