Cassidy Con

Cassidy Con is a convention organized by Dragon Loyalists and fans that celebrates art, science and history of and about Dragons. This convention takes place in Manhattan in PLACEHOLDER. It lasts for seven days during the second week of July. The convention has seen rapid growth for each installement as interest in dragons has skyrocketed in the world.

History

The first convention was relatively small and organized by a dragon fan with some friends. He had never really done something like this and there were a lot of problems as more than 3'000 people attended the small event. And several ten thousand more would have come.
 
  The second year the convention found a new organizer and many corporate sponsors. It increased in size to around 70'000 attendees in three days.
  This is when the dragon loyalists wanted in on it. They came to an agreement and the third year the convention was expanded again to a total of 1'000'000 attendees over seven days. This time around the convention was no longer purely cultural, but also featured a science conference and a big political agenda.
  The fourth time the number of attendees did no grow significantly. There were 1.2 million. This time Cassidy herself attended the conference and held a panel and many meetings over the seven days.
  For the dragon loyalists the convention is a great place to recruit and spread the word. The dragonic order is heavily involved and spends the seven days prolythelizing the attendees to drakonism.

Organization

The convention is organized by the NON_PROFIT_ORG_THAT_ORGS_CONVENTION and a medium sized event agency. The event agency is responsible for planning, preparing and executing the event while the non-profit makes the strategic decisions and takes care of the invites for the most high profile panels and events.

Dragon Con (Atlanta)

The original Dragon Con is a multigenre convention held since 1987 in Atlanta, Goergia. This convention has been hijacked by dragon fans as well. The convention is still multigenre, but more and more of its content is all about dragons. Here as well dragon loyalists show up in force to represent Cassidy. She has so far not made an appearance here.
