Alicia Rogers

Alicia Rogers is a middle school teacher in Manhattan. She lives together with her two daughters and her boyfriend.

Motivation

She is motivated by her daughters and her students. She is dedicated to ensuring their health, success and happiness. Where necessary she goes the extra mile to ensure that no student is left behind. This brings her to the edge of a burnout at least once a year as she rarely takes breaks and is unwilling to depend too much on others.

Personal History

Alicia grew up in Brooklyn with her family. She is part of a large family, most of whom are employed in social professions. From early on it was clear to her that she would become a teacher when she grew up. She was a good student through her childhood and youth and easily managed to get her masters degree in education. Outside of school she spent a lot of time as a girl scout and later as a guide. She is still active in her local division.   During college she met David Monroe, who quickly became her boyfriend and then husband. They had two children shortly after she graduated from college. She divorced David after ten twelve years of marriage, because of his emotional abuse, mental issues and his substance abuse. She needed to get always to protect herself and her daughters. Five years later she met her current boyfriend Randy Martin. He moved in with her and her daughters after two years of relationship.

Activities & Hobbies

Alicia loves playing the guitar and to sing. She always wishes she could dedicate more time to this, but rarely manages to do so. She sometimes brings her guitar to school to plays it during classes. She has tried to teach her daughters to play the guitar, but neither of them has shown any interest in actually learning the instrument. Her other passion is hiking and camping. She has spent almost all of her vacations in the Adirondack Mountains doing some kind of outdoor activity.

Relationships

She is highly respected and involved in her community both privately and professionally.

Family

She has two brothers and three sisters all of whom are still close. Her parents are both retired teachers who live in Brooklyn. They all visit each other regularly and spend most holidays as a family. These family gatherings are always large as each of the six siblings has two or more children coming up to a total of twenty.

Colleagues

The other teachers and other school employees all adore and appreciate Alicia. She has helped most of them in one way or another and everyone is eager to help her out when she needs it.

Friends

She has three close female friends who she values greatly. Two of them she met during college and the last is the wife of a fellow policmen of her ex-husband.
