Ridgetown - Struggle
Once a well established and prosperous mining settlement, Ridgetown thrived above the mines that supported it. Under the watchful gaze of the town guard, Ridgetown's community lived a peaceful life with little unrest. That was until the endless greed for money drove the mining operations beneath the town too far, causing a great collapse of the portion of mountain range that the town rested upon, thus leaving a great chasm in its wake. From this chasm a great wave of terrible evils emerged, engulfing the town and its surrounding areas. As news of the devastation spread, mercenaries flocked to the town in an effort to restore it back to the safehaven it once was. The governor of Ridgetown saw promise in these mercenaries and employed them as an elite guard, the Mad Blades, in an effort to maintain the fragile peace. While the city rebuilt itself, a new grand building was erected in the center of town. Large and imposing, this circular structure became the new focal point of the city, and resting atop its domed roof, large glass panes encapsulate what appears to be an observatory. . Mining soon continued under heavier restrictions, the town unable to survive without it but wary of past mistakes. Peace seems to have returned and Ridgetown grew as the unprecedented tragedy had cleared an area large enough to allow trade and commerce to grow, not just assisting in the recovery but causing a economic growth that was previously not possible.
