Minotaur

Dark Hearts

The minotaur was created with evil intentions in mind; though they eventually grew beyond their dark origin and most saw a better path to follow. In their world a dark god wanted to rule but he lacked the power to face all his fellow gods that would oppose him, so he studied other world conquers that had failed, and decided to come up with a creation of his own. That creation was the minotaur, a creature of brute strength and bloodlust. With this new denizen, the dark god went to war with the world and ravaged it. In the end, the mortal forces with the help of the other gods, were able to fend off the minotaur armies and clear some of their minds from dark control. The dark god was defeated and sent back to his realm and imprisoned there.

From Another World

After the wars the minotaur were free from the control of the dark god. Some still were set in evil ways but most went on their own path. They were able to settle lands and build cities, and many contributed to the world quite well. Things were quite well for many years until their past came back to haunt them. When the dark god had fallen, part of his pure essence was released into the world and it created a magic that would corrupt things, causing them to act in aggression. It plagued the minotaur lands and they tried to fight back, but couldn't stand against it for long. A flash of light saved them and they ended up in another world safe from corruption….for now.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Minotaur's are considered medium creatures but are quite largely built. They are bulky bipedal bull-like humanoids that have 2 arms, 2 legs , a head and a tail. Their hands are human like but their feet are of fur and hooved. Their looks consist of a bull-like face with large horns and fur that covers most of their upper body. Their torso area is like human skin but tougher. From the waist down is more fur and their feet are hooved and also have a tail with heavier fur at the tip. The common fur/skin colors you might see on a minotaur are brown, white, black, red and pretty much any shade in between.      Male: Male minotaur's have large curved horns and can grow more fur around their face area and back. Some also choose as a symbol of the old ways to have a ring through their nose like a traditional bull.   Female: Female minotaur's have smaller horns and most of the time they don’t curve as much. They also rarely grow fur around their face but can grow more fur on there head and often braid it or put in jewelry to fancy it up. They also have larger ears.

Genetics and Reproduction

Minotaur's Reproduce like other mammals do. After successful mating, pregnancy will last around 280 days. A female can give birth to one calf but in rare occasions twins can happen.

Growth Rate & Stages

Minotaur's age the same rate as humans do but they do grow a bit different. Unlike humans Minotaur calf’s can see, stand and walk at birth. It only takes them about 3 months to be able to eat on their own. Though they still require care. Because of this faster growth rate Minotaurs are considered adults at the age of 14 and by 20 years old all their features should be set.

Ecology and Habitats

Minotaur's can survive in pretty well every climate but they do seem to prefer more barren and wasteland type lands. There are two types of Minotaur's: the ones that stick to herds and the ones that don’t. Usually the ones that are in herds are more nomadic and like to move around and follow the old ways of the dark god and the other type is ones that reside in small groups or alone usually in towns, cities, or just outside them. All Minotaur's like to build structures out of metal and rock and are hard to anger but if provoked enough might give you a gore.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Minotaur's eat a variety of food. They can eat both meat and plants. Some of their favorites consist of fish, mutton and ripe vegetables. They also love strong ales and beers.

Biological Cycle

A Minotaur's biological cycle is pretty well the same as humans except they grow faster at birth and take less time to become adults but when Minotaurs reach the older years of life their fur will start to grey and they become more frail.

Minotaur

The minotaur's who dwell in the badlands are caught between two worlds. Some follow the dark god who has tyrannized them for ages untold and shown them a trail of slaughter that is all many minotaur's have ever known. Others, though, have emerged from this bloody path and found a world that welcomes those who pursue their own destinies and heroic callings.
