Koeva

Elemental Goddess of Water, mistress of the tides and tyrant of the deeps.
Youngest of the primordial elemental deities, Koeva is said to have been the favoured daughter of Folurne and Shilina. If the myths are to be believed, she was named after Evalaw itself, reflecting her everlasting beauty and mysterious wiles. Koeva, goddess of water, mistress of tides is known for her mercurial nature; feeding the masses with the bounty of her seas, whilst contemning many who take to her waters every year. Although she is not malicious, stories often tell how despite her kind-hearted and loving nature, she is as ever-shifting as the seas, her wrath for the slightest offences can be unpredictable, savage and more terrible than any other deity. This is typically seen further in the way Koeva is presented in myth and fables, depicting her as a capricious and unpredictable force of nature. Tales of Koeva often emphasize her dualistic nature, where she alternates between benevolence and fury, much like the ebb and flow of the tides she commands.
In many maritime cultures Koeva is the provider of bountiful harvests and trade, seeking good fortune and favour with her can mean full bellies and purses. Many sailors and fishermen, seeking passage across the waves will typically offering gifts and prayers before embarking on their journeys. In return, she graces them with calm seas and a plentiful harvest of fish, displaying the nurturing aspect of her divine personality. It’s not been unknown for ships, especially those built by the Aelfier to have small shrines dedicated to Koeva in the prowl of their vessels, or to ritualistically toss offering into the waters for safe passage, calm waters and favourable winds.

In the Drakkan language the word Kore represents life, and the word Eva means water.
