The Gelid Tundra

Brief Overview

Originally known as the Gelid Plains, this icy expanse was given its name due to an event involving the goddess Kyubi on the 16th of Beccaar, 3111 BN. With a wag of her second tail, Kyubi froze the plains solid, making the travel from Carthal to Oriathis incredibly dangerous for mortals. It is often described as the coldest place in Tundarus.

General Overview

The Gelid Tundra is known as the most dangerous location in Tundarus due to the dangers of exposure to the extreme cold and a phenomenon called Sudden Displacement. A vast majority of people who claim they've tried to transverse these lands have proof of it, either suffering from intense frostbites, the loss of limbs, or a single trinket left behind by a travel companion who was claimed by a Sudden Displacement.
