A village located in the east of Yondar, just shy of the kingdom's border with Tennith. Originally, the village was nothing more than a resting point for those fleeing the a war that had broken out between Tennith's citizens. When those refugees decided they preferred this side of the border they began to build homesteads on the open land.
Soon Redbarrow became the first village in Yondar that held only Tennith born citizens. The first and, sadly, last of its kind.
Before long, Yondar’s royalty caught wind of what was happening. They believed that it must have been the beginnings of some sort of attack, that perhaps Tennith had broken their promises of peace and sided with Valissa - Yondar's long standing enemies. So Yondar's royalty sent soldiers to the village to hunt the refugees and bring them in for questioning. Or rather more likely, an execution.
To deter other refugees from crossing the border, they commandeered the village. At first, the only people who really lived there were the soldiers tasked with defending it. Then, as time passed and Tennith's civil unrest came to an end, some of the soldiers settled down, as did a number of travellers and adventurers.
Demographics
In spite of being a well travelled trade route between Tennith and Yondar, all of the citizens living in Redbarrow are Yondarish. The entire population is made up of humans.
As far as villages go, it is actually one of the wealthier ones. A lot of Redbarrow’s citizens are more well off than those from neighbouring towns. Part of this is because of the amount of trade they see pass through. Another part is that, because of how close to the border they are, the Greymounts send a lot of money to Redbarrow for upkeep and maintaining a high presence of guards.
