Razanden City
Welcome to the Capital Slum... erm, city!
History
Back during the time Razanden was somewhat respected, this place served as its capital city.
After the Eclipse Extermination and the successive punitive actions against Razanden as the instigating country, the city was mostly destroyed.
Attempts to rebuild it were slow, as even the gods themselves seemed against the nation, and natural disasters, drought, and famine plagued the region.
Not long after reconstruction would near completion, some form of disaster would befall the region. Since the Eclipse extermination, the city has been completely or partially destroyed by 3 earthquakes, 4 floods, 6 'highly unnatural' wind storms, and even buried in snow once, which was very strange given the regions near tropical climate.
Tourism
One does not tour a place that has the disdain of the gods. Even those who live there would rather leave, truth be told. The only problem: where exactly do you go when no notion or deity seems to want you.
The only saving grace is that the city, and nation as a whole, have not been outright destroyed.
Architecture
The architecture style is "ramshackle" at best. There isn't a point in attempting to make something ornate when it will likely be destroyed in a dozen or so years. Single and 2 story buildings with simple timber construction are the usual extent of what anyone tries. There are some exceptions, though it is only simple stonework.
Natural Resources
Misery is not an export, but at the very least, there are an abundance of resources in the area that allow the city to be mostly self-sustained, or sustained within the web of broken cities across the territory.
The minerals in the area have become unusually brittle, and it is advised to boil or purify water from the adjacent river. Harvests are just enough to sustain the population, and as such, there aren't any leftovers beyond winter reserves.
Oh, my! This place sounds truly cursed. I really want to know why the gods seems to hate this city so much ^^
Because of the Eclipse Extermination. There's another article that I need to finish that relates to it, and goes into a bit more detail.
