The Golden King

The church of the Golden King and the Way of Gold. The followers seek out wealth over all else, they tend to be wealthy merchants, nobles, and bandit kings. They gain their wealth through monopolies, heavy taxes, and crime.     Core Beliefs:
  • Discard the Worthless: Members of the Church believe that anything without value or potential for profit is to be discarded, including sentimental attachments. They view sentimentality as a weakness.
  • The Worship of Wealth: The central tenet of the cult is the worship of gold and the accumulation of wealth. They believe that gold is the only true path to power and salvation, and that it is a divine currency.
  • Divine Hierarchy: The cult follows a strict hierarchy, with the wealthiest and most influential members at the top. They believe that the "Golden King" blesses those who amass the most wealth and power.
  Rituals and Practices:  
  • Tithing: Members are required to tithe a portion of their earnings to the cult, reinforcing the belief in the supremacy of gold. Failure to tithe is seen as a grave sin.
  • Gold Offerings: During religious ceremonies, followers make offerings of gold coins, jewelry, or other valuable items to the cult's leaders, who are believed to be conduits to the Golden King.
  • Wealth Competitions: The cult organizes competitive events where members can showcase their wealth and success. These events often include displays of opulence, such as lavish feasts and extravagant attire.
  • Prosperity Prayers: Members recite prayers that invoke the blessings of the Golden King, asking for increased wealth, success in business, and protection from poverty.
  Hierarchy:  
  • High Priest of Gold: The highest-ranking member of the Church, responsible for interpreting the will of the Golden King and leading the organization.
  • Golden Council: A council of the wealthiest and most influential members who assist the High Priest in making decisions and managing the cult's finances.
  • Master of Coin: In charge of overseeing the cult's financial assets and investments.
  • Grand Merchant: Oversees trade and economic activities.
  • High Tithemaster: Ensures members are adhering to tithing requirements.
  • Copper Disciples: Entry-level members who are tasked with recruiting new followers and collecting tithes.
  • Silver Seekers: Members who have proven their dedication and commitment to the Way of Gold. They often hold positions of authority within the cult's economic enterprises.
  • Golden Lords: Elite members who have amassed significant wealth and are considered the closest to the Golden King. They have a say in major decisions and rituals.
  Symbols and Iconography:   The cult's symbol is a golden crown atop a pile of gleaming gold coins, representing their devotion to wealth and power. Members often wear golden jewelry, carry gilded staffs, or don extravagant clothing adorned with gold embroidery. Goals:  
  • To amass wealth and power for themselves and the cult.
  • To convert as many people as possible to the Way of Gold.
  • To control economic activities and gain influence in political and social spheres.
  Enemies:   Those who oppose the Church of the Golden King may include rival religious groups, governments, and individuals who see the cult's teachings as morally corrupt.
