The Empire of Gaal

Gaal, The King of the Undying, Bringer of Immortality, Savior of Entropy. This Cult has sought to spread undeath to all of Ærnol. Their priests keep a low profile but their influence has slowly spread.   The Gaalish cult is still a structured organization and is as follows:   Archbishops: Leaders of different regions they head a council of Bishops. Archbishops are often in communion with Gaal and serve as his mouth piece and prophets   Bishops: Five bishops form a council lead by an Archbishop. A Bishop is the leader of a sect in a town or city. Some cities are large enough that they would need more than one Bishop. They are to make sure that the sect remains secret and to make sure that cultists follow the will of Gaal.   Priests: Priests administers their dark sacrament and preforms rituals that twist and transforms true believers into undead.   Decans: Decans assist the priests in their rituals and learning the spells and potions needed for Gaalish rites.   Blood Knights: Blood Knights are military generals of Gaal's armies. These knight are created by Bishops and Archbishops in times when the cult needs to wage war. They are powerful foes but have never been created since the Great Swallowing.   Knights: Not has powerful or frightening as Blood knights but their appearance should not be taken lightly. They are few and used as guards for Priests, Bishops, and Archbishops. Not many can become a knight, as a knight must prove their loyalty by completing a set of trials. These trials are to kill a target determined by a Bishop, then fast for two weeks, only able to consume the flesh and blood from the victim of their previous trial, and the third and final trial is to cut out their own eyes, so that they may be guided by their faith.   Shadows: Assassins, they answer to the Archbishop and Bishops. They are the silent killers sent to eliminate enemies of the cult before they can alert the King's Men.   Believers: Believers are initiates that do not have the required attributes to become a knight or a Decan. They are lay worshipers that hope when Gaal returns they can find a station suited for them. Though they still participate in rituals they hold no authority to preform rites and rituals themselves.
