Taxes

Taxes are collected at the end of every season. Seasons in Wesford are measured in months, Every two months is a season. In Ærnol the beginning of Spring marks the New year and is the beginning on the month Ernster-Tage. Each month consists of 40 days. Every 80 days citizens of Wesford are expected to bring their taxes to their local meeting house, usually a church, to deposit their taxes. Taxes come in many forms. in rural areas Taxes can be measure in the value of produce of vegetables, grain, or livestock. Merchants, give a portion of their profits in tax. Adventures must pay a tax immediately to any lord they gain treasure or payment within the lords lands and again tax to the crown every 80 days.
  If an adventurer only labored as a tradesmen or farmer then they must pay taxes as a citizen during that season, and if an adventurer did both they must pay a tax on both. Taxes are farmers, tradesmen, laborers, and merchants are 30% of their increase/profits, rounded up.
  Adventurers are sometimes granted a grace period longer than citizens as they are often times away from civilization when tax day comes. however if taxes are not paid two weeks after tax day they are considered evading their taxes, their writs will be suspended, and a bounty put on their heads.
