Sha Al'ærin

The Country of Sha Al'ærin is ruled by a council of powerful Sorcerer-Priests called the Grand Shas. This Council is headed by the Supreme Sha. The Supreme Sha owns all of Sha Al'ærin by his divine right and by that right he allows other lesser Shas to have pieces of Sha Al'ærin so long as they pay the Supreme Sha an annual tribute of their profits they make from their land. In Sha Al'ærin to become a Sha you must own land and have at least one retainer in your house. Many Shas run merchant enterprises, slave trades, Caravan Drivers, gladiators, spices, and other businesses all of which is very profitable.
  In Sha Al'ærin the elemental lords are worshiped and Djinn are revered the same way saints are revered in other faiths. The Grand Shas act also as the holy men for communion with the elemental lords and Djinn.
  The Church of the Golden King covets Sha Al'ærin and strives take over the country.
  Sorcerer-Priest Council and Land Ownership: The country of Sha Al'ærin is governed by a powerful council of Sorcerer-Priests known as the Grand Shas. This council is headed by the Supreme Sha, who claims divine right over the entire land.
  The Supreme Sha's rule is absolute, and he retains ownership of all of Sha Al'ærin by this divine right. He allows other lesser Shas to govern specific regions of the country but only if they pay him an annual tribute of their profits derived from their land holdings.
  To become a Sha and own land in Sha Al'ærin, one must meet certain criteria. This includes owning a substantial piece of land within the country and having at least one retainer in their household. These retainers often serve as advisors, enforcers, or administrators.
  Economic Ventures of the Shas:
  The Shas of Sha Al'ærin are known for their profitable enterprises. Many of them engage in various businesses, including merchant endeavors, slave trading, caravan operations, gladiatorial arenas, spice trade, and more.
  These businesses thrive due to the elemental blessings bestowed upon the oases by the Elemental Lords, ensuring a steady flow of resources, fertile lands, and ample trade opportunities.
  The Shas' economic prowess allows them to maintain their positions and pay the annual tributes to the Supreme Sha while amassing substantial wealth.
  The Church of the Golden King's Ambition:
  The Church of the Golden King, as a powerful religious organization, has set its sights on Sha Al'ærin and its abundant resources. They view the Elemental Lords and Djinn worship as heretical and seek to convert the people of Sha Al'ærin to their faith.
  The Church may covertly infiltrate the oasis cities, attempting to sway the populace away from the worship of the Elemental Lords. They offer their own brand of spiritual guidance and claim that the Golden King's rule is superior to that of the Supreme Sha.
  Tensions between the Church and the Sorcerer-Priest Council simmer beneath the surface, and conflict could erupt at any moment as the Church strives to gain a foothold in Sha Al'ærin and seize control of its prosperous oases.
